Illustrated journaling is my new jam

Most days I leave the office for my lunch hour and find some place to sit and draw something. On Monday this week I didn’t have anything in particular in mind, so I simply reflected on the moment. Where I was sitting, what I was eating, and how much I was enjoying my birthday, even though it was a Monday, and even though I hadn’t given myself the gift of a day off.

I compiled these things, and some thoughts, and some goals for my 34th year into an illustrated journal page. I’m very happy with the result. I did the sketching and linework en plein air, and added the watercolour at home.

I felt brave and documented the watercolour process on my Instagram stories. I then compiled the clips here using the Apple Clips app.

I’m kind of in love with making pages like this. I think I want to make this a weekly or monthly thing. Let me know if you would like to see more of my process for these pages.
